Ausable Valley Boys bowling team had a great 2017-2018 season. Coming into this year they had won the last two conference and sectional championships. The boys started this year with the goal of a “three-peat” and they did not disappoint. Not only did they reach their goal of three consecutive CVAC and Sectional Championships but they also went undefeated in the process, not losing a single point all year. The boys were very dedicated this year, working much harder on making their spares and being TEAM players. If someone was having a rough day there was always a teammate there to pick them up.. All of them would go on their own time and work on their game also. (Seniors) Tyler Atkins, Ryan Thomas, Tyler Light (Sophmores) Logan Martineau, Troy McDonald , along with (Junior) Tanner Forbes feel with the new small school/big school divisions they could do very well at states this year. All of them are going to states wanting to have fun, bowl well, and just maybe……..win. Which they did, 2018 NYSPHSAA Boys Bowling Division 2 Champions!
The Beekmantown Varsity Girls Bowling Team has always been a strong team among the section. This year makes it our 9th consecutive year as sectional champions. Bowling holds the most sectional wins of any other sport for our school and it is the only team sport to ever win a state championship. One can argue that our team this year is the strongest it has ever been. During the season the girls set a new 1 game scratch CVAC record of 1071 breaking their record last year by 20 pins. Peru gave our girls the most competition they have had in many years. We shared the CVAC championship with them this year and at the end of the 1st series of Sectional play our girls team was down more than 180 pins. Our girls rose to the challenge and bowled by far the best series of their season in the second shift and set a new record for total pins bowled at Sectionals to 5584 again beating the record they set last year by 35 pins. .
